My Journey: From Science to Synergy
"Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams."
The Path to Integrated Healing
My path to becoming a therapist began with a search for a real solution. In my early 20s, while training in the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, I picked up some minor injuries. I discovered that treatments like massage and acupuncture effectively targeted the root cause of pain, unlike pharmaceuticals which only masked the symptoms. This was my first revelation: true healing addresses the source, not just the signal.
Logically minded with a deep interest in biology, I pursued a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and built a career in the IT industry. Yet, a conversation with a nutritionist friend sparked a realisation. I wanted to use my scientific curiosity and analytical skills not on systems, but directly on people—to help them resolve their physical and emotional "dis-ease."
This led to a profound career change. I immersed myself in a five-year acupuncture diploma at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) while simultaneously training at the Bodyology School of Massage. I discovered how my background in science, my passion for movement and my interest in Eastern culture, history and healing traditions converged perfectly. I had found the framework to bridge two worlds: empirical evidence and ancient wisdom.
